Group structure Flashcards
Contrast
Section A: 0.00-0.07
In Section A, the creatures are in a horizontal line in the waves, Alice is positioned in front of the waves. The creatures perform two backstroke gestures followed by a single turn and then two freestyle gestures. While the creatures are doing this, Alice employs contrast by performing a different phrase which starts with a gallop followed by a turn and then leg extension this is repeated multiple times. The use of contrast, shows Alice has been swept away by the waves, meanwhile the creatures continue to swim through the pool of tears.
Canon
Section B2: 2.48-2.54
In section B2, The creatures stand in pairs around Alice, with Alice in the center. The creatures perform two steps up with both arms bent at the elbows one facing up and the other down, before switching arms. They repeat this four times, before repeating this again, but in double time. In canon, Alice joins in for two rounds before moving into pose coupe pirouettes. This demonstrates Alice accepting the nonsensical nature of the creature’s race, and joining in for a few moments experiencing the fun, that the animals are having.
