Players begin to get to know each other, develop social relationships, figure out the goal, reliant on coach bringing players together
What happens in the storming stage of Tuckman’s model
There is infighting and conflict as roles are established, confrontation with leaders
What happens in the norming stage of Tuckman’s model
Conflicts are resolved, team unifies and cooperates focussing on achieving goals, standards are accepted, team cohesion develops, motivation and success rise
What happens in the performing stage of Tuckman’s model
When the team supports each other and understands their roles, motivation and enjoyment is high as is respect for other members and leaders

When the team goal has been achieved - opportunity for recognition of team and individual efforts

The way players work together to complete a task
EG loud or quiet, playful or serious
What are the effects of having a shared goal
Helps bind people together so they commit to each other and work hard to achieve the goal - this raises motivation
