Psoas minor

O: Bodies of last three thoracic + first few lumbar vertebrae
I: Psoas minor tubercle of ilium
F: Flexes pelvis on loins inclines pelvis to the side
N: Local intercostal + Ventral brr. of lumbar nn.

Question 3

Psoas major

Answer 3

O: Ventroproximal on last two ribs; Ventral lumbar TPs
I: Fuses with iliacus as iliopsoas on lesser trochanter of femur
F: Protracts HL + rotates it outwards; Flexes hip; Stabilises vertebral column when HL fixed
N: Local intercostal + Ventral brr. of lumbar nn.

O: Sacroiliac surface of ilium; Adjacent wing of sacrum + Psoas minor tendon
I: Fuses with psoas major as iliopsoas on lesser trochanter of femur
F: Protracts HL + rotates it outwards; Flexes hip; Stabilises vertebral column when HL fixed
