Step 1
Within 14 days of event, email notification to member’s LT. LT has 14 days to answer back to member and lodge
Step 2
If unsatisfactory answer, notification to bureau AC within 14 days of step one. AC or designated commander has is days to meet with member and lodge rep. Answer must be given within 14 days of that meeting.
Where do grievances from members of different bureaus go?

Step 3
If unsatisfactory answer, complaint can be appealed to chief within 14 days of step two. Chief of designated AC has 14 days to meet and 14 days after that meeting to respond
Step 4
If unsatisfactory answer, may appeal to mayor, same 14 day timelines as other steps
Step 5
May seek arbitration within 14 days of step four. Will request panel of seven arbitrators from the federal mediation and cancellation services within 21 days of notice of arbitration
How are arbitraors selected and when will the parties meet
The lodge in LFUCG alternately strike names from the panel submitted by FMCS. Parties meet within 14 days of receiving the panel
Who pays expenses for witnesses during arbitration
The party requesting such witnesses
Who pays arbitrator fees
Fees shared equally by both parties
True or false the decision of the arbitrator is final
False, arbitrators decisions shall be advisory
What happens if a grievance is not submitted within the time limits
It shall be waived
What happens if it’s not appealed within the time limits
It will be settled With LFUCG’s last answer
What if an appeal does not receive an answer from LFUCG before time Expires
Lodge gives written notice to Chief. LFUCG has an additional 72 hours to respond. If they don’t matter shall be deemed confessed. The lodge in LFUCG can mutually agree to extend the time limits in each step
