What had you done earlier that day
Not much. Went shopping in morning, was in all afternoon and evening. Deniz in bed most of day
What did you do that evening. It was feb 14th, Valentine’s Day

Not great. Arguing lots. Met and moved in quite quickly, think we lived there about 2 months

I have no idea. Don’t think he wanted me talking to my mum, she never approved of us moving in together, doesn’t like her

Finished my call and told him how rude he was

He told me I should go back home if I wanted to spend valentines with my family

Told him I would rather do that than stay here
Then she started shouting
Called me waste of space and told me I should get out or else

She didn’t finish, she attacked me

How did she attack you
Twisted both my arms behind my back and roughly pushed me to the floor. As I fell down I felt a terrible pain in my leg
What caused the pain
I didn’t see, think I might have been kicked
Then what happened (2)
He told me to get up, couldnt- this time she definitely kicked me
Where did she kick you
In same place on same leg
What happened next
- not that clear because of immense pain
- kept shouting
- remember Brynne grabbed him and was holding him back
- still shouting that I should get out, even though it was obvious I couldn’t go anywhere
Can you tell the court the injuries you suffered from the attack
Broke my shin bone
My right tibia
What happened when it became obvious you needed medical treatment
Deniz called the police. I heard him say I had a knife. He was blaming me!
Did you have a knife
Only because I was cutting carrots when he went for me
Did you threaten him with the knife
Absolutely not! I just dropped it as soon as he attacked me
