Labyrinthine
Describes something that is maze like and complicated.
Ex: all the visitors enjoyed trying to navigate the labyrinthine corn maze this fall.
Herculean
Very large, difficult, powerful, etc.; requiring great strength or effort.
Ex: a herculean task of lifting a three-hundred pound boulder can be completed only through practice. Lots of it!
Stygian
Gloomy.
Ex: the light faded as he explorers went deeper into the darkness of the stygian cave.
Ambrosia
Something particularly delicious.
Ex: I was so hungry that even moms burnt meatloaf tasted like ambrosia, suitable for gods.
Elysian
Of or referring to Elysium; blissful, delightful, heavenly.
Ex: the universal pipe dream is that there exists an Elysian haven where the troubles of the world can be forgotten.
Mercurial
Describes someone who is quick to anger, react or change.
Ex: no one understood why Todd had devolved such a mercurial temper, quickly changing his mind and yelling at everyone over minor things.
Titanic
Having great magnitude, power or force; colossal.
Ex: dissertations are of titanic importance because they explain whether you are truly an expert in your chosen field.
Muse
A source on inspiration, particularly for art or music.
Ex: the renowned musician said that poetry is his muse; it inspires him to write beautiful and heartfelt songs.
Tantalize
To tease or torment by presenting something desirable but keeping it continually out of reach.
Ex: the idea of earning large sums of money very quickly can be tantalizing, but there’s often a catch.
Narcissistic
Describes someone who is self centered, self absorbed, and conceited.
Ex: Fabio is a narcissist, he believes he’s gods gift to the ladies.
