Where does the tour end?
We stay the last night of the trip in Oia on the island of Santorini. As such, you may leave the tour any time on the last day. It is approximately a 20-minute taxi ride from our hotel in Oia to the airport. Flights will leave the Santorini airport for Athens, and will take approximately one hour.

The terrain on this trip includes a mix of paved and cobblestone streets in Heraklion, Mykonos town, Fira and Oia; as well as well-maintained countryside and coastal trails; vineyard, olive grove and shepherds’ paths of compressed dirt and stone; and even crushed lava rock on the volcanic trails. The footpaths offer a selection of level, rolling and hilly terrain with some elevation gain and loss.
How do you get to Heraklion?
- Fly into Athens, and then transfer to Heraklion via connecting flights via Aegean Airlines. The flight from Athens to Heraklion takes about one hour.
What’s another way to get to Heraklion from Athens?
- Fly into Athensand then transfer by an overnight ferry. Depart from the port Piraeus and arrive in Heraklion. You can use Anek Lines or Minoan Lines.
