Why do we have seasons (according to Greek mythology) ?
Hades stole Demeter’s daughter, Persephone. Demeter became sad, and Earth became dark and cold. To prevent mortals from extinction, Zeus made a deal with Hades: Persephone could return to her mother for half the year, and could stay with Hades the other half.
