What is the Black Figure technique used in Greece? Provide examples.

What is a Pediment? Provide example of an art-piece that depicts a pediment.
In architecture, the triangular component (usually in the front or back of the building) formed by the edges of an angled roof.

What is Red-figure technique? Provide examples.
Style of pottery decoration in which backgrounds are painted with slip that turns black during the firing and figures appear lighter color than the clay.

What is the Capital?
The top section of a column or pillar, usually decorative; capitals are usually one of defining features of the doric, ionic, and corithian order.
What is the column/shaft?
Upright, weight-bearing components, which creates the platform on which the columns are situated.
What is the stylobate?
The uppermost step leading to the temple, which creates the platform on which the column are situated.
What is the Frieze?
Long, horizontal area for paintings or sculptures.
What is the Metope?
A plain or decorative slab in the doric order frieze, set between triglyphs.
What are Triglyphs?
A block with three vertical bonds separated by v-shaped groves, situated between the metope in a doric frieze
What is the Cella (Naos)?
The inner chamber of a temple; usually houses a statue of a deity.
