What is the Schlieffen Plan?

A

It was a war plan developed and crteated by Alfred Von Schlieffen where the Germans would attack France through Belgium and take care of them quick enough to return the whole army to the Eastern Front and fight Russia there.

Why did the Schlieffen Plan fail?

A

The Schlieffen Plan failed because the Belgians didn’t let Germans through and were fought by Belgium and the BEF and Russia arrived at the Eastern Front earlier than they expected.

A

These are rooms dugout at the back of trenches often housing a telephone for orders and a bell.

A

A device used for soldiers to see over the top of the trench without the risk of being shot.

A

A bell rang to alert soldiers to put on their gas masks.

Trench Rats, Small Rations and low quality food and trench foot.

What were trench rats?

A

Trench Rats were rats that were attracted by dead bodies and food scraps, they would take food and reproduce very quickly.

What is Trench Foot?

A

Trench foot was an infection caused by cold, wet and dirty conditions on the feet. The feet of the infected men would often turn blue or red and if untreated could be amputated.

A

They would perfirm morning hate every morning by taking a step on the fire step.

How did food become an issue?

A

As more people joined the war, rations became smaller and food quality got worse due to poor cooking conditions.

What was the Treaty of Versailles

A

a Treaty decided by the Big 3 in the Palace of Versailles. They decided the consequences of Germany losing the war.

What did WW want for Germany’s consequences?

A

He didn’t really want Germany to be punished as he joined the war late in 1917 and didn’t suffer the consequences. He just thought that each country should rule themselves.

What did DLG want for German’s Consequences?

A

He wanted to make the German’s pay but didn’t want to humiliate them. But he wanted the Germans to no longer be a threat.

What was agreed at the Treaty of Versailles?

A

Germany must pay for the war in money and goods. GPD6600M, Germany will have no air force of sbmarines. No German soldiers in France; Germany handed over colonies to Britain and France, parts of countries were cut off to make new countries. The League of Nations was setup for ALL countries.
