Clear golden yellow to amber color. Warm nose with aromas of vanilla, toasted almonds, coffee and brioche. Smooth, robust palate with soft tannins. Hints of spice and dried fruit.

Aged for over 5 years in French barrique. New oak with a medium toast.

What does it mean when a grappa is labeled as “stravecchia”

A

This denotes a grappa which is bottled after having been aged for longer than 18 months. Also labeled as a “reserva” grappa.

What is the difference between grappa and brandy?

A

Grappa is made by distilling the pomace (left overs of the wine making process, skins, seeds, stems and sometimes lees) Brandy is made by using the above and the juice pressed from the grapes.

Villavarda, Grappa Amarone Reserva

A

Has an clear deep golden color. With aromas of maraca cherries, blackcurrant raspberry and ripe red fruits. Aged in French barrique for 5+ years on staves with a medium toast. Flavors on the palate include toasted cocoa, almond, pistachio, walnut husks, coffee and vanilla. The taste is exceptionally smooth, rich, velvety, tannic and refined. Aromas coming from the nose are translated very well into the palate.

Villavarda, Grappa di Moscato

A

This traditional grappa has a bright, crystal clear color. The aroma is aromatic, intense, enveloping the nose with fine, fresh fragrant and delicate floral notes of breir rose petals, orange blossoms, lily of the valley, elderberry, sage, citrus fruit and typical Moscato scents. The fruit comes through on the smooth, well-rounded palate, with apple and pineapple dominant. There are background notes of bread crust.
