Graphs Flashcards
1
Q
bar chart
A
- compares groups and conditions
- not continuous data, separated bars
- typically more than 1 condition
- marks from labels and fully operationalised title
2
Q
scattergrams
A
- used to show relationships
- demonstrates strength and deviation of correlations
- can estimate the correlation co-efficient based on a graph
- each data point is a paired score
3
Q
histogram
A
- shows distribution of data on a continuous scale
- usually data in the same condition
- higher bar=greater frequency
- area of each bar is proportionate to the frequency
- y axis must start at 0
4
Q
line graph
A
- alternative to a histogram
- shows continuous data (through a line connecting each point)
