Affect versus Effect
Affect means to influence or change
Effect means result or outcome
Among versus Between
Among: more than two persons or things
Between: involves only two
Amount versus Number
Amount: used when referring to things in bulk
Number: used when referring to countable units
Bad versus Badly
Bad: an adjective before a noun
Badly: adverb to modify an action verb
