What is a thesis statement?
A short statement that sums up the main point of the story.
Where does the thesis statement go?
At the end of the 1st paragraph.
What are supporting details?
Things that back up the thesis statement.
What is informational/expository writing?
It helps inform/explain a point
What are sub-headings?
A section of text
What is a memoir?
A story written about a person and also written by the same person. A person writing about themselves.
What is a biography?
A story about a person but not written by the person being written about. Someone else writing about someone else’s life.
What does PIE stand for?
Persuade, inform, and entertain/express oneself.
What are all the points of view?
1st, 2nd, 3rd limited, and 3rd omniscient.
What is 3rd person limited?
When the narrator only has access to one character’s perspective.
What is 3rd person omniscient?
Where the narrator is telling from multiple character’s perspectives.
