A verb is a word or set of words that show action, feeling, or state of being.

A preposition is a word that indicates the location or some other relationship between a noun/pronoun and other parts of a sentence

A conjunction is a word that joins phrases or sentences together.

An interjection is a word that doesn’t add anything grammatically to a sentence

A subject is the noun/pronoun that performs the verb
What is a compound subject
A compound subject is two subjects joined by a conjunction
What is a complete subject
The entire subject, which including any adjectives or phrases that are part of the subject
What is a direct object
Direct objects are words that receive the action of the verb. They are the answer to what or who of the verb
What is an indirect object
Indirect objects are objects that come between the verb and the direct object
What is an article
a, an, the
What is the object of a preposition
It is the noun/pronoun in a prepositional phrase
What is a prepositional phrase
It is a group of words that include a preposition, article, and noun/pronoun
What is a predicate word
Predicate words are adjectives or nouns of a linking verb
How do you find linking verbs
Replace verbs with the word is, check if the sentence still makes sense
What is a declarative sentence
A declarative sentence makes a statement and generally ends with a period
What is an interrogative sentence
An interrogative sentence asks a question. This type of sentence would generally end with a question mark.
What is an imperative sentence
An imperative sentence gives a command. It usually ends with a period.
What is an exclamatory sentence
An exclamatory sentence expresses emotion and ends with an exclamation point
