A

Non standard- lacks standard subject/verb combination

What is a simple sentence?

A

Sentence with just one main clause-includes subject and main verb
Eg. ‘This room stinks’

Compound sentence

A

Sentence that links an independent clause to another independent clause causing a co-ordinating connective
Eg. ‘I live in Darlington and I go to QE’

A

Sentence which consists of a main clause and a subordinate clause connected by a subordinating connective

A sentence with an expressive function conveying forceful emotions like anger, surprise, humour
