In English grammar, a word class is a set of words that display the same formal properties, especially their inflections and distribution.
Inflections
Inflection refers to a process of word formation in which items are added to the base form of a word to express grammatical meanings.
Grammatical Change
Grammatical change, on this understanding of grammar, is a change in the regularities that characterize a language system at a given point in time.
Sentence Structure
In English grammar, sentence structure is the arrangement of words, phrases, and clauses in a sentence.
Bound Morphemes
A bound morpheme is a type of bound form, and a free morpheme is a type of free form.
Sentence Function
There are four sentence functions in English: declarative, exclamatory, interrogative, and imperative. Declarative sentences state an idea.
Voice
There are TWO TYPES of Voices in English language. 1.Active voice. 2. Passive voice.
Morphological Change
Commonly, the study of changes in inflection and word formation is referred to as diachronic morphology, or morphological change.
Tense
Verb Tenses are different forms of verbs describing something happened in the past, happening at present or will happen in the future.
Aspect
In English grammar, aspect is a verb form that indicates time-related characteristics, such as the completion, duration, or repetition of an action.
