What is the difference between a Rise and a Relevé?
To rise, you lift the heels to demi-pointe keeping the legs fully lengthened throughout. Simply lower the heels to finish.
To relevé, you must start in a demi-plié and snatch the toes as you lift the heels and straighten the legs. Push the toes back to where the came from as you press back down into your demi-plié to finish.
What is the difference between a Changement and a Soubresaut?
A Changement is a jump from 3rd which changes feet, whilst a Soubresaut is a jump from 3rd which clings the feet together where they are.
