What are the 3 steps to giving feedback?
Start positive
Give a way to improve
End with an encouragement
What are the 3 personal learning styles?
Visual - remember things best when see them, or picture them
Auditory - take in information by listening
Tactile - learn best when physically engaged, hands on
What are emotions?
Strong feelings like anger or sadness; instinctive feelings that happen without thinking or reasoning
What is empathy?
Understand and share the feelings of another
What is compassion?
To have sympathy and concern for the suffering of others
When are negative emotions a problem?
When we allow them to control us as they make us act in a bad way
What are the 5 ways we can deal with emotions positively?
Talk to a friend Eat healthy Know yourself Write a journal Find help from a teacher/ parent / grown up you trust
What are the 7 tips for giving positive feedback?
Be clear about what you want to say
Emphasise the positive
Be specific about what the person needs to improve
Stick to the issue or behaviour, don’t attack the person
Tell clearly what behaviours, thoughts or ideas they can change
Use ‘I think… ‘ or ‘I feel …’
Make sure the person feels that you still value what they do

What is a stereotype?
Having a fixed idea about a group of people; this group is labelled or categorised in a certain way e.g. all girls like pink, SACS boys are stupid
What is discrimination?
When a group of people are judged and treated differently because of race, gender or religion e.g. white people work harder than black people; boys are not as clever as girls
What is bias?
An inaccurate way of seeing things. It happens because people pre-judge or favour one over the other e.g. a biased ref at a rugby match
