GPAC Flashcards
How much air can the gpac produce?
4.15m 3/min at 25-50 degrees
What are the 3 outlet purposes?
Breathing air purification systems
Tornado reverse thrust test outlet
Four tool outlet
What speed is the gpac limited to?
40 mph on road
20 mph off road
What does the oil tight chassis prevent?
Environmental contamination
What is the rpm ranges?
2000rpm off load running speed
2800 rpm full load
What type of compressor does the GPAC use?
Model 45 screw compressor
How is the engine driven
Via a coupling
What is the working pressure?
10.0 bar
What temperature is the discharge?
90 degrees
What is the output of the compressor dependant on?
Screw length and profile
Form of discharge port
Why is oil injected into the compressor?
Absorb heat Prevent metallic contact Lubricate roller bearings Provide a seal between rotors and housing Trap fine particulates
What is full load?
Pressure from proportional controller insufficient to overcome cracking pressure or inlet valve
Overcomes spring pressure in engine speed actuator - engine remains at max speed
Minimum pressure valve ensures sufficient pressure for lubrication of compressor
What is partial load?
Pressure from proportional controller rises-
Overcomes cracking pressure of inlet valve and valve partially closes
Overcomes spring pressure in the engine speed actuator - speed is reduced
What is off load?
Pressure from proportional controller rises which overcomes spring pressure of inlet valve. This closes and overcomes spring pressure win engine speed actuator and engine speed is reduced to idle
What is the valve that controls both the volume of air and rate of compression within the pneumatic system?
Proportional controller
