How often should Pap smears be performed?
When do you repeat smears?
- Screening from 18 y/o OR 1-2 yrs after first sexual intercourse.
- Cease at 70 if 2 normal smears in prev. 5 years.
- If LSIL repeat in 12 months if prev. smear neg. BUT if over 30 then repeat in 6m OR refer for colposcopy
- If HSIL OR adenocarcinoma refer to GYN for colposcopy
How often should mammogram be performed?
- If no confirmed FHx of CA - every 2 years from 50 y/o
- Annual mammogram from 40 if first degree relative Dx
Which women are at high risk for breast CA?
- Genetic mutation in FHx
- Prev ovarian CA
- Breast CA in a male nerve
- bilateral breast CA Dx less than 40 y/o
- Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry

What are the 5 A’s of SNAP?
ASK - identify pt risk factors
ASSESS - level of risk, readiness to change, health literacy
ADIVISE - brief advice & motivational interviewing
ASSIST - develop Mx plan, lifestyle change, drugs
ARRANGE - follow up, prevent relapse, refer to allied health programs
