A

Characteristics of SCC
A
- Fast growing
- initial hard growth of skin
- classic everted edges
- may ulcerate and bleed
- surrounding erythema

When does an SCC require urgent referral?
A
- Large (>1cm)
- Lymphadenopathy
- SCC of ear, lip, tongue and oral cavity
- SCC of genitalia

Characteristics of BCC (nodular)
A
- Pearly white lesion
- rolled edges
- central ulceration
- stretching skin demarcates the lesion

Management of pruritis
A
- Cooling methods
- avoid vasodilation (hot showers, alcohol)
- Hydrate skin (emoliants/ointments/moisturisers)
- Avoid soaps/detergents
