A
  • Fast growing
  • initial hard growth of skin
  • classic everted edges
  • may ulcerate and bleed
  • surrounding erythema

When does an SCC require urgent referral?

A
  • Large (>1cm)
  • Lymphadenopathy
  • SCC of ear, lip, tongue and oral cavity
  • SCC of genitalia

A
  • Pearly white lesion
  • rolled edges
  • central ulceration
  • stretching skin demarcates the lesion

Management of pruritis

A
  • Cooling methods
  • avoid vasodilation (hot showers, alcohol)
  • Hydrate skin (emoliants/ointments/moisturisers)
