Q

governments - lack of taxes being paid
EXPLAIN

A

If these governments do not have these essentials then it will also be very difficult for the countries to develop and create wealth that the government can tax, meaning that, like the citizens of the country, the government is often trapped in a poverty related cycle

Q

governments - lack of taxes being paid
ANALYSIS

A

The high levels of poverty that people experience due to a lack of development in their country also costs governments vital tax revenues needed. Underdevelopment means the populations of such countries will struggle to provide the tax base the government will need to make the investments vital to developing the country they are responsible for.

Q

governments - lack of teachers
EXPLAIN

A

Underdevelopment means governments are unable to recruit the quality teachers that they need. The quality of life in the developing world can be poor, and as governments are unable to both provide the right educational facilities it is also unable to pay the wages needed for educated and skilled people to become and stay as teachers.

9
Q

governments - lack of teachers
ANALYSIS

A

The consequences of this is that the government will be unable to recruit the teaching staff needed for development. Without teachers to encourage and teach the next generations, all aspects of society and government will be further impacted, and the future development of the country will be severely affected. This will lead to even more people falling into the poverty cycle.

20
Q

wider international community - attracts key workers

A

When considering the situation in many developing countries, with greater risks of conflict, poverty, gender inequality, hunger and more, the international community is able to attract those that do manage to get a good education with the promise of a better life

wider international community - attracts key workers

25
Q

CONCLUSION

A

Overall, this essay has argued that the wider international community, particularly becoming much poorer overall, are affected the most from global underdevelopment. Becoming much poorer overall means that developed countries cannot sell luxury goods to those in poverty which negatively impact the economy significantly. The group with the least significant effects are governments affected by a lack of taxes because the UN Tax Committee are creating practical guidance for governments in order to strengthen tax systems. With the impact of global conflicts such as Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Palestine, it is predicted that underdevelopment will continue to increase on a global-scale as people are seeing their homes and families destroyed.

26
Q

INTRO

A

With over 1.1 billion people worldwide living in absolute poverty, it is important to think about who this is affecting. This essay will highlight the effects on governments, such as lack of taxes being paid and a lack of teachers, and effects on the wider international community, such as, the international community becoming much poorer overall and that it attracts key workers from poorer countries - which could be considered a positive effect. Overall, this essay will argue that the wider international community is affected the most because of global underdevelopment, particularly, becoming much poorer overall.
