Democracy
the power is given to the people
Direct Democracy
Every citizen is given an equal vote in government
Indirect Democracy
Where citizens elect / vote lawmakers to represent their interests in government
Theocracy
A government run by religious doctrine
Oligarchy
A small group of people in charge
Dictatorship / Authoritarian
No sharing power with other authorities
Absolute Monarchy
Monarch hold total control over the country
Constitutional Monarchy
Holds some power, but its restricted by a constatution
Anarchy
No one holds power
Government
Group of people who control the country, make laws, and keep order
Nation-State
A country that is enthniaclly the same
What are the roles of the Government?
To make and enforce laws, protect people, and to provide public schools
What three powers do all governments have?
Make laws, enforce laws, and judiciary power. (alter laws)
Totalitarian
One political party is in power. and people are forced to do what the government tells them.
Presidential Democracy
the citizens vote for a president who becomes the head of state.
