What are some examples of the ISO ?
- an M4 thread screw is the same in the UK, Europe, US or China
- a torch made in China would have a standard AAA battery holder fit for any country
- all of Europe now uses 230 colt 50Hz AC
How does the ISO play a part in our lives ?
All the products we buy come standardized Eg batteries, TVs, nuts and bolts, light fittings and CD players

ISO 9001
Millions of companies around the world have acquired this accreditation
This standard demonstrates their ability to provide profits and services that meet customs and regulatory requirements
What is the BSI ? And what does it do ?
British standard institution
- nation standard body of the United Kingdom
- they produce technical standards on a wide range of products and services
Where does BSI apply ?
Wide range of industry aswell as governments, consumers, employees and society overall
It ensures that British, European and international standards are useful, relevant and authoritative
What is a kite mark ?
Products have to comply with safety regulations
It’s a mark that ensures customers confidence in products if they have the kite mark as they know they are safe
