To maintain order/stability for people to live safely

Body of people representing states of U.S. who formally cast votes for president/vice president

The holder head of nation as distinct as head of government

Advise president on anything he requires
Presidential line of succession
Order of who should take over for president if something should happen to him during his term
Executive privilege
The right of president and other members of executive branch to hold certain confidential information
Pardon
Expression of presidents forgiveness
25th amendment
Vice president shall take over for the president if something should happen during his term
Veto
Prevent a bill from becoming a law
Pocket veto
Bill does not become a law because it is not signed in a 10 day period/it expires
