Autocracy
One person is in power. (Example Monarchy and Dictatorship)
Monarchy
A king or queen inherits their power and position through their family line.
Totafitarian
One political party is in power.
Absolute Monarchy
Holds total control over the country.
Constitutional Monarchies
Holds some power but is restricted by the constitution.
Dictatorship
There is no sharing power with others authorities.
Oligarchy
A small group of people are in charge.
Democracy
The power is given to the people the citizens of the nation.
Direct Democracy
This is when every citizen is given an equal vote in government.
Representative Democracy
Citizens elect lawmakers to represent their interests in the government and also known as Indirect Democracy.
Indirect Democracy
Citizens elect lawmakers to represent their interests in the government and also known as Representative Democracy.
Constitutional republic
As an indirect democracy us citizens vote on representatives to make laws and decisions for the country.
Theocracy
A government run by a religious doctrine.
Anarchy
A technically not a government at all.
