Conscience
The inner feeling of right and wrong. Christians believe God guides people to do what is right and avoid evil
Evil
The absence of good. Evil can be seen and moral or natural
Free Will
The idea that human beings are free to make their own choices. God created man to be able to begin and control his own choices
Goodness
The quality of being like God. Putting the needs of others first
Incarnation
Literally means “made flesh”. The belief that God took on flesh in Jesus
Natural Law
A universal moral law of right and wrong. This means that the law is the same for all people at all times
Privation
The absence of something. Evil is a privation of good
Suffering
Pain that harms human beings. Some suffering is caused by people and some is caused by the world
