Muco-purulent discharge Dysuria Dyspareunia Post coital bleeding Pain

Investigations
A
Pharyngeal swab in men if indicated, external meatal, and maybe rectal. First catch urine used as well.
NAAT testing for gonorrhoea, chlamydia, syphilis and HIV.
Females, endocervical or vulvovaginal.

Management
A
Ceftriaxone IM 1 gram.

Complications
A
Disseminated gonococcal infection. Meningitis and sepsis.
