Q

Why Goldman Sachs?

A

Goldman Sachs really strikes me as a company that embraces innovation. A lot of flexibility. I love the standard of excellence that Goldman Sachs has, from what I’ve heard everyone is very passionate about what they do. I’m passionate about what I do, I wake up at 6 o’clock in the morning every day, working as hard as I can. and researching innovative new ideas. And I have a few examples.

Q

Tell me about yourself …

A

I LOVE solving problems and developing new insights. I thrive on innovative ideas. I’m excited by data, working with a medium that has so much explanatory power. I’m passionate about what I do, I wake up at 5 o’clock in the morning every day, working as hard as I can. I’m obsessed with efficiency and finding more effective ways of doing things, generating new ideas. I’m very passionate about financial markets, and more specifically trading strategies. And so as of now I’m looking for an internship, I may have something promising at UBS in operations but it’s not 100% certain. If I don’t get an internship then I have a research project lined up for the summer.

Q

Tell me about agricultural yields …

A

Rainfall, average temperature, number of sunlight hours. And the possibilities are endless, this could be extended into calculating new housing starts, . But there are so may other factors, such as pollenation, etc… that are very difficult to calculate and forecast. So one solution that I came up with is using sattelite imagery, AND IT’S ALL STARTING TO MAKE SENSE. Because the level of biomass is positively correlated
