When were the golden years
1924 - 1929
New standard of living polices brought in for housing in 1924
15% rent tax was brought in to fund building associates
101000 new homes were built between 1925 - 29
Still shortages in housing but things improved
New standard of living polices brought in got unemployment and insurance
3% of workers earnings were deducted and put towards insurance that would give them a basic amount of benefits if they became sick or unemployed

Working conditions improved
ALTHOUGH
Hyperinflation made employment insecure
And we’ll of Germans resented the workers benefiting
Women at work
Women were encouraged to go to university and could now study teaching and medicine
Most women had given up work after they had married
Few women had secured high jobs
Was an increase in part time work
Women at leasure
More independence for younger single women
Women less interested in marriage and family and more interested in having a good time
New behaviour of the women was not liked by some men and women who felt the traditional values were being eroded
Women in politics
Women earned the right to vote in 1918 and could stand for elections
90% turned out at elections
Article 109 of the constitution stated that women had equal rights to men and could enter professions on an equal basis
Marriage was an equal partnership
