What is God like?
- gods knows everything
- he is the father he cares for us
- he designed the world
- he is a judge who will judge people at the end of the world

What are Anglicans belief on life after death?
- most Christians believe in heaven and hell
- they believe that when a person dies they will be judged by God according to how well they have lived their lives. This is called the ‘day of judgment’
- not only will their soul go to heaven but they will also have resurrected body
What do Roman Catholics believe about life after death?
-the belief in purgatory. This is a place between heaven and hell. Most Catholics are not good enough to go straight to heaven because of all their sins they have committed but they believe in Jesus so will not go to hell. So they go to purgatory where they are punished for a period of time before they are able to go to heaven

Fish - reminds people of Jesus and tell others that the wearer is a Christian
Crucifix - often worn by Catholics, it helps to reassure people and reminds them of Jesus’ death and resurrection

Hijab and chador - is worn becaus Rita instructed by the qur’an. It’s a way of reminding pure and showing that the women should not be viewed as a sex symbol
Star and crescent - is often at the top of Islamic buildings. It’s a reminder to Muslims that Allah lights the way through life
What’s a typical Christian funeral right?
- the service usually takes place in a church or chapel
- hymns, prayers, bible readings and a sermon are often included
- some churches include Eucharist / mass
- there is a tribute to the person who has died
- after the service the body is cremated or buried depending on persons wishes
- cremation words such as “dust to dust, ashes to ashes”
What are typical Islamic funeral rites?
- family members gather around the dying person to read the qur’an and offers prayers
- the last words to be heard should be the adhan prayer
- after death the body is washed 3 times by a close relative and perfume is applied
- the body is wrapped in a shroud
- the imam leads prayers in the mosque and at the grave side
- the funeral should take place within 24 hours and is only attended by men
- burial in its right side facing Makkah
Reason why religion is still important?
- it’s been around for thousands of years
- it gives a clear guidance on how to live eg Ten Commandments
- it provides support/ guidance during special or difficult times
- many religious believers help each other in need
- regions help answer ultimate questions such as why are we here
Why is Religion not important?
- holy days aren’t important the needs of the world matter more
- the rules of religion are not relevant for today
- people now have more things to do at the weekend
- fewer people are brought up to be religious so it’s no longer so relevant
What do Christians believe about Freewill?
- God created the world with free will
- for any action to be truly human it must come from a freely made choice, otherwise people would be the same as robots
- human decisions and choices are not perfect because of the fall ( when eve ate the fruit)
- many things affect how free we are in the decision we make
What are Islamic beliefs about Allah?
- Allah is powerful-he knows everything that has happened, is happening and will happen in the future
- Allah requires obedience-Muslims believe this because Allah gave the prophet Muhammad the qur’an which contains information on how to live life like Allah wants
- Allah is one-Muslims believe in one God
- Allah is creator - Muslims believe everything that exists is created by Allah

- prayer-this is the second pillar of Islam. Muslims pray 5 times a day facing Mecca
- read qur’an - Muslims believe this is the word of Allah. It tells them how they should live and what Allah is like
- giving - the third pillar of Islam
- pilgrimage - going on hajj is the fifth pillar is Islam. Muslims should do this at least once in their lifetime
- leading the sort of life Allah requires - they should only do hose which halal and not those which are forbidden
