Q

NAME THREE BENIFITS OF SETTING GOALS

A
  • Improving confidence since performer can experience an improvements in technique or in results as the target is being reached
  • regulating and sustained effort, as player reaches target they may try a little harder as the goal nears completion , coach needs to adjust the target to account for a specific competition so that a short period of effort is applied in the build up
  • increasing motivation and making sure participants keep trying, players can become task persistent so when that target is met a sense of pride and satisfaction is experienced increasing intrinsic motivation
