GMAT Sentence Correction Flashcards
OG SC 944 - A
GLANCE:
Beginning: include/includes (-s vs no -s could be Sub-Verb)
End: nothing super useful
dolphin family is NOT the subject (it is inside a THAT mod) - 32 species is (eliminate D/E).
BIG RULE NOTES:
WHICH (noun mod) vs. comm-ING (adv mod) –> describing whale so WHICH
OG SC 992 - B
GLANCE:
Beginning: modifier (-ing, that)
End: sing/plur verb
liked “that” and decided too quickly (-ing or that would have been fine).
Sub-Verb is easier issue - “THAT their compliance… IS protecting” (elim A, C, and D)
**TO DO** LOOK FOR “THAT”!!!
BIG RULE NOTE:
that vs -ing (no comma) are both noun mods
OG SC 939 - A
Glance:
LONG underline (structure? might have to read all choices = long time)
Beginning: all diff (not helpful)
End: all diff (not helpful)
BIG RULE NOTES:
INTRO MODIFIER –> must modify the main noun after… (what could rival pyramids? only the statues!)
OG SC 894 - D (mods)
GLANCE:
Beginning: modifier (which vs comma-ing)
End: word choice? (smaller v decrease in size)
Not the BAY that does this… need “fancy” modifier so can’t be A, but D/E would work!
B/C turns a mod into another item - B is new “clause” and C is list. Neither make sense here
- *BIG RULE NOTES:**
- which/ing (what type of mod)
- modifier/not mod (meaning: is the info supporting the other part of the sentence or should it be it’s own item??)
