Q

describe and explain the process of glycolyisis (5)

A
  • glucose is phosphorylised by the addition and hrdrolysis of ATP to ADP+ Pi
  • glucose bi phosphate produced
  • glucose biphosphate phorsphorylised via addition and hydrolysis of atp into adp+ pi
  • 2x molecules to triose phophate produced
  • 2x molecules of triophosphate are oxidised by adition of NAD forming pyruvate,
  • NAD collects two hydrogen ions forming NADH
  • 4x molecules of adp +pi also added to 2x molecules of TP
  • OVERALL NET GAIN OF 2X ATP
