10
Q
describe and explain the process of glycolyisis (5)
A
- glucose is phosphorylised by the addition and hrdrolysis of ATP to ADP+ Pi
- glucose bi phosphate produced
- glucose biphosphate phorsphorylised via addition and hydrolysis of atp into adp+ pi
- 2x molecules to triose phophate produced
- 2x molecules of triophosphate are oxidised by adition of NAD forming pyruvate,
- NAD collects two hydrogen ions forming NADH
- 4x molecules of adp +pi also added to 2x molecules of TP
- OVERALL NET GAIN OF 2X ATP
