Glucose And Lipid Storage Flashcards
What is the enzyme involved in glycogenesis?
Glycogen phosphorylase
What are all the enzymes involved in glycogenlysis?
Glycogen phosphorylase and in liver cells you also see phosphoglucomutase
What are the key enzymes involved in glycogenesis?
Hexokinase and phosphoglucomutase
What are the enzymes in gluconeogensis?
Fructose 1,6 bisphosphotase, glucose 6 phosphotase, pyruvate carboxylase, phosphophenopyruvate carboxy kinase (PEPCK)
What is the key control enzyme in gluconeogenesis?
Phosphenopyruvate carboxykinase (PEPCK) fructose 1,6 bisphophotase.
What are the key enzymes involved in lipogenesis?
Acetyl CoA carboxylase
What is used during fatty acid sythesis?
Act yl coa, atp and nadph
What are the key features of glycogen?
Contains a1,4 and 1,6 glycosidic bonds, glucose ony, can be stored with minimal osmotic impact, alpha 1,6 bonds are branch points which allow the molecule to be rapidly broken down and built up.
