What is Hierarchy and it’s relation to Feudalism?
A system of organisation with different levels of power and authority, where people or groups are ranked one above the other. This is related to feudalism as feudalism was also a hierarchical system.
What is Meritocracy and it’s relation to Feudalism?
A system where individuals are promoted or rewarded based on their abilities and achievements. Not social status. Feudalism was NOT a meritocracy as it was sorted by birth.
What is Theocracy and it’s relation to Feudalism?
A form of government where religious leaders or religious laws govern the state, The Church had significant influence during the feudal era.
What is Stratification and it’s relation to Feudalism?
The arrangement or classification of something into different groups. The Feudal society was highly stratified, clearly.
What is Absolutism and it’s relation to Feudalism?
A form of government where a single ruler holds all the power. Feudal lords and kings often held the absolute power.
What is Divine Right and it’s relation to Feudalism?
The belief that a ruler’s authority comes directly from God. Many Feudal kings and lords claimed that their right to rule was granted by divine authority.
What are Tithes and it’s relation to Feudalism?
A portion of one’s income given to the church as a tax or offering. The church collected tithes from the people during the Feudal Era.
What is a Social Contract and it’s relation to Feudalism?
An agreement among people to create rules and las to ensure order in society. The relationship between lords and vassals are a social contract.
