19
Q

Flight

A
  1. For operational purposes, a flight is one or more aircraft proceeding on a common mission

20
Q

Instrument Time

A

Portion of pilot time in either day or night under actual or simulated instrument conditions

21
Q

Carrier Control Area

A

A circular airspace within a radius of 50nm around the carrier, extending upward from the surface to infinity, under control of CATCC except for those a/c operating under control of the air officer during Case I and II operations. NOTE: the radius and height may be limited because of adjacent controlled airspace

22
Q

Carrier Control Zone

A

The airspace within a circular limit defined by 5 miles horizontal radius from the carrier, extending upward from the surface to and including 2,500’ unless otherwise designated for special operations, and is under the cognizance of the air officer during VMC
