tuxedo shirt:
a tailored men’s dress shirt with a pleated front
western shirt:
type of shirt with a yoke on the back, or the front, made of denim or tartan fabric with long sleeves. typically has piping and snap buttons
bell bottom pant:
type of pant with an exageratted flare starting from the knee downward to create a bell shape. popular in the late 60’s to 70’s
Chanel jacket:
a tailored tweed jacket with pockets and is put together on the straight grain with no darts. made with the purpose to allow women the freedom of movement.
Nehru jacket:
a hip length tailored jacket with a mandarin collar
batwing sleeve:
a loose long sleeve shirt with deep arm hole and a tight wrist. similar to the dolman sleeve
off the shoulder sleeve:
type of sleeve that doesn’t cover the shoulder
notch collar:
type of collar that forms a notch where the lapels and collar meet, forming a ‘V’ shape
scoop neck:
a deeply curved wide neckline
drop waist:
style of dress where the waistline is at the hips rather than the waist. popularized during the 1920’s ‘flapper’ style
dart:
tucks (folds coming to a point) sewn into clothing to provide ease of movemnt and structure to the garment
