- UK is low in PISA testing, causing panic and concern.
- pressure on schools to do well in league tables, increased cream-skimming
- leads to ‘KNEE-JERK’, reaction from the government to put in policies that have not been well thought out.

what are the positives of globalisation
A
- creates opportunity + challenges
- creates more opportunities abroad, but more competition for jobs
- increased migration means that there is greater multiculturalism in the UK
- education now is a very different experience
