Globalisation is the expansion of business operations into other countries through the removal of economic barriers and increases in global technology.
What causes globalisation?
- rapid advances is technology (communication is easier)
- laws regarding foreign investment have become more relaxed
- trade agreements between countries have seen a decrease in trade barriers (makes trade of goods and services easier)
What are some effects of globalisation?
- changed food supply
- division of labour
- less job security
- damage to the environment
- cultural impact

- local companies lose business
- provides jobs to local workers

- flexible working hours
