What is globalisation?
The increasing interconnections and interdependence of the world economically, socially, politically and culturally
What is time space compression?
More people travel further and with increasing frequency
Pros of TSC:
-more jobs
-generate own onions on place
-easier to move people, money and goods
-improved transport and communication
-increase sense of global connections, resuting in increased emotional attachment
Cons of TSC:
-TNCs moving to LIDCs= more factories= loose concept of place
How are we increasing interconnected?
-more ways to travel train, air, sea
-more global connections via internet
-ideas spread quick due to social media/ news articles
Why is globalisation negative?
Causes businesses to move overseas as its cheaper, this can cause home country to loose out on benefit coming from the business
