What is globalisation?
Globalisation is the process by which the world is becoming increasingly interconnected. We now communicate, trade, travel and share each other’s cultures more easily around the world.
What has caused globalisation?
The internet, mobile phones, labour costs, air transport, mass TV ownership, container shipping transportation, labour availability and skills, computers, Increase in Multinational Corporations.
Who are the winners and losers of globalisation?
The biggest losers arethe primary workers e.g. picking and farming pineapples in a field and then their salary is only £560. The next biggest losers are the secondary workers e.g. preparing pineapples in a factory and their salary is still quite low (£2,100). One of the biggest winners are tertiary workers e.g. Selling of packaged pineapples in a supermarket Salary £18,000. The biggest winners are the quaternary workers e.g.Designing a new advert for Tesco in an office. Salary: £41,000
