How does GPS work?

A

Satellite sends out time of transmission/satellite position. GPS receiver gets signal, compares time on clock, gets distance from the satellites. Triangulates position on earth.

A

Improves accuracy of GPS. Uses ground based reference stations, measures small variations in GPS signals, broadcasts correction message to WAAS receivers.

A

Receivers placed around airports. sends correction message to aircrafts to improve accuracy. Makes accuracy within 1 meter.
