opportunities created my migration:

2) Migrant remittances are very important to returnees and their family. In Laos 22% of families live below the poverty line.
challenges created by migration:
1) Most economic migrants are low skilled, of limited education and under 18 at first migration. Many travel illegally and are vulnerable to human trafficking, forced labour and exploitation.
2) Loss of skilled labour such as carpenters and mechanics to Thailand- set to increase as wage remains higher and free movement is becoming easier.
