Global - Limitations (Red Limits) Flashcards
What are the crosswind limits for T/O & LDG?
(Red Limit)
What are the tailwind limits for T/O or LDG?
(Red Limit)
- 10 kt maximum.
What are the Buoyancy Limitations?
(Red Limit)
BUOYANCY (AOM 12.1.6)
* T/O or LDG Over Bodies of Water > Landing weight (78,600 lb) Require:
* R PACK - OFF.
* OUTFLOW VALVE 2 - CLOSE (think “flow”).
* Manually enter ARR or DEP PERF V-Speeds. Use speeds from Flight Release, iPreFlight Genesis or FMS-computed values using OPEN+PACKS condition). Set back to normal about 10,000 ft.
What are the takeoff and landing weight limits?
(Red Limit)
What is the max operating altitude?
(Red Limit)
- 51,000 ft.
What is the minimum flight spoiler altitude (AGL)?
(Red Limit)
300’ AGL, unless it is a steep approach.
What is the max landing gear operating speed (Vlo)?
(Red Limit)
- Vlo = 200 kt
(Vle = 250/.7)
What is the turbulent air penetration speed (Vturb)?
(Red Limit)
- Lesser of 300 kt or .80 Mach
What are the “AUX PRESS - ON” limitations?
(Red Limit)
- 5/6000: Max Altitude = 41,000 ft.
- 5500: Max Altitude = 37,000 ft.
What is the limit for “EMER DEPRESS - ON”?
(Red Limit)
- ≤ 15,000’ to turn ON.
What are the APU Starter limits?
(Red Limit)
- 3 attempts in 1 hour.
What is the maximum altitude for APU starting?
(Red Limit)
- 37,000 ft.
(Note: 30,000’ for bleeds & 45,000’ max altitude for operation).
What is the maximum APU operating altitude?
(Red Limit)
- 45,000 ft.
(Note: APU Start = 37,000’, APU Bleeds = 30,000’)
What are the autopilot engagement altitude limitations?
(Red Limit)
- See chart below.
NOTE: Approaches to DDA’s or MDA’s are 400 ft AGL.
What are the limits associated with COWL ANTI-ICE?
(Red Limit)
- Do not use COWL ANTI-ICE in AUTO mode during takeoff (ON only).
- Use in accordance with Anti-Ice System Operation (see chart below).
What are the limits associated with WING ANTI-ICE?
(Red Limit)
- Do not use WING ANTI-ICE in AUTO mode during takeoff.
- Must be ON for takeoff when OAT ≤ 5°C in visible moisture or when operating on contaminated runway.
- If Type II, III, or IV fluids have been applied, select ON just prior to takeoff thrust.
- Do not hold in icing conditions with slats OUT.
- Use in accordance with Anti-Ice System Operation (see chart below):
What are the minimum turn time for the brakes?
(Red Limit)
- 15 minutes.
Before towing aircraft, what are the minimum fuel load requirements?
(Red Limit)
- Minimum of 5000 lb of fuel must be onboard aircraft.
(This keeps the CG forward to keep the nose gear from lifting during tows).
When is FLC mode prohibited?
(Red Limit)
- Prohibited to descend w/FLC mode on any approach segment (VFR or IFR).
What Approach Category is the aircraft?
(Red Limit)
- Category C.
Note: If fly FAF to DA > 140 kt, then fly Category D.
What is the minimum oil temperature to taxi?
(Red Limit)
- 20°C.
What are the engine starter limitations?
(Red Limit)
- 3 min ON - 15 sec OFF
- 3 min ON - 15 sec OFF
- 3 min ON - 15 MIN OFF
Max wind for engine starting & takeoff?
