How has globalisation changes the connections between people?
Globalisation has lengthened, deepened and made connectivity faster.
What are capital flows?
The flow of money (capital) throughout the world
What are Labour flows?
The flow of human labour throughout the world

The flow and exchange of products (manufactured goods) between countries
What are service flows?
Countries providing service for companies all over the world

The flow of information that can be accessed internationally

What are some technological factors that helped accelerate globalisation?
Transport systems - ships and trains that help create faster trade that could travel across seas connecting different countries.
Information systems - The internet connected people globally
What are some factors that helped accelerate globalisation?
- trade agreements and trade blocks
- Security relationships
- Management systems
- Financial systems
what are the different forms of interdependency?
- economic - needing foreign workers to work sectors
- Political - The idea that places with economic interdependency will never wage war due to lasting effect on eithers economy
- social - where social connections lie between citizens in 2 countries e.g. Indian migrant workers in Uk having family in India
- environmental - where counties have “global commons” such as borders, sea space and air space
what are remittances?
where money is sent by migrant workers to families back in their home country. Create a big income flow for some countries.
What is FDI?
Foreign Direct investments is where companies use other countries as a way to outsource manufacturing. For example Nike in Indonesia. This of course means capital is flowing into these countries,
What are some positive effects of an FDI?
An FDI has potential to bring large amount of funding to poor areas
