  • E. Coli
  • salmonella
  • campylobacter
  • V. Cholera
  • shigella

Gram -ve bacteria:
- clostridium

Viral:
Rotavirus

Protozoal:
- giardia lamblia

What is the general management of GIT infections?

A
  • adequate hydration (fluid and electrolytes), use oral rehydration solutions
  • isolating the source of the pathogen eg. food/water bourne and limiting exposure
  • hygiene, hand washing, disinfecting of toilet areas
