Alexander Cocktail
Ingredients:
1 1/2 fl oz of gin
3/4 fl oz of white crème de cacao liqueur
3/4 fl oz of cream
Optional: 1/3 fl oz of egg white
Instructions:
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add all the ingredients.
Shake well until chilled and frothy.
Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Garnish with grated nutmeg.
Variations:
Brandy Alexander: Use brandy instead of gin.
Princess Mary: Omit the egg white.
Tips:
Choose a good quality gin that is not too juniper-forward, such as Plymouth or Tanqueray.
Use a white crème de cacao liqueur for a lighter color and flavor, or a dark one for a richer taste.
Use fresh cream for the best texture and flavor, and shake it well to create a smooth foam.
Adding egg white is optional, but it will make the cocktail more silky and creamy. If you use it, shake the ingredients first with ice, then without ice for a smoother texture.
