GI- Salivary Glands and Pancreas Flashcards
1
Q
Intercalated Ducts:
A
- Receive secretions from acini
- Flattened, cubodial epithelium that extends into the lumen of the acinus
2
Q
Intralobular Ducts:
A
- Classic cubodial epithelium
- Seen within lobules
- Receive secretions from intercalated ducts
3
Q
Interlobular Ducts:
A
- Found between lobules within the connective tissue septae
- Vary in size
- Smaller ducts= cubodial epithelium
- Larger ducts = columnar epithelium
- Interlobular ducts receive secretions from intralobular ducts
- Interlobular ducts send their secretions to the main pancreatic duct, which goes to the duodenum via the bile duct
